In this video, Ms. Shakir's second graders showcase their tiny town LEGO creations for the characters of 'The Littles!' Ms. Shakir explains how her students identified the needs of the characters and the students describe the items they made and why. Take a look!

Hello, I'm Ms. Shakir, second grade teacher. Second grade, Say hello! One of the many chapter books every read this year is The Littles. The Littles are characters that spend the majority of I'm hidden in the wall in the big house. And so as we were reading this book we decided to build a tiny town where The Littles decided to venture out the little don't want to do that because you can see her buy this photo they have a lot of fears about coming out the  yeah what are some of their fears about just leaving the inside of the wall Hunters firechat water there's a whole community of little action but there's two important part of one part would be something that the littles and Smalls and new members would love to visit but also it has to have protection or do you want to go and make them go. Case tractor with pink and zoom is like isn't your car and it doesn't happen someday fee is this is kind of power I think the littles of like it because at the top there is like rock climbing and the smallest get to know that someone else or any other people over here is like a security guard that let them sign in and I'm here Zipcar Oregon does a Canon right here in our quiet Zone where the little ones can come inside have a relaxing time and there is a car right here so that if the mice trying to get in they can get in the car and the door is very hard I can't get in either I think it's like one of them it'll just grab them and one of the other can I just like. This is worth the food that you eat favorite to win the Denver Coliseum call Chinese place this is the Megastore. Megastar has food and drinks and this is a Wi-Fi so they're here we have a water park which is which Cody and they could go in here and going to slide and then fall over here again and then you keep going all over again this is a rock-climbing board if you press this when you put a prize and which one the rocket shoots the little Scamp hide under here or they can hide under skin is own the house for real Littles and all the time it has a stove and a little French braid hair so I could cook so we made a treehouse in this is a fireplace. some stuff inside in here this is like little pants and stuff books down there just in case and then the other flowers we need a helicopter for them to like play around me okay that's it thank you
